Företaget What’s the Matta AB grundades 2016 och var del av en större franchise. Vi går nu in på 2023 som en självständig butik, Retro & Rugs.
Retro & Rugs skapades 2022 och är ägt av What’s the Matta AB. Vi har valt att arbeta med att framhäva och sälja äldre föremål som vi älskar och föredrar utifrån vår egna smak. Vår önskan är att hjälpa våra kunder hitta och återanvända redan tillverkade föremål av hög kvalité istället för att stödja massproduktion/nyproduktion.
Företagets grundare och ägare Harvey Page är son till två mattexperter från London och är själv en orientalisk mattexpert med 35 års erfarenhet, därav namnen “Whats The Matta AB” och “Retro & Rugs”. (Se till att kolla på vår mattsektion innan ni lämnar vår butik).
Efter att ha jobbat med återvinningen av secondhand föremål i Sverige under de senaste 10 åren samt sina 35 år som antik och orientalisk mattspecialist var det bara naturligt för Harvey att fortsätta att arbeta med antika, vintage och retro föremål.
Vårt mål som företag är att fortsätta jobba med hållbarhet och att skapa ett utrymme där varor har ett värde utöver dess status som ny eller secondhand.
Det är viktigt att notera att även om vi arbetar med hållbarhet, så har vi inte längre något samarbete med återvinningscentralerna. Från och med 2020 är allt i vår fina butik inköpt.
Vi på Retro & Rugs tror starkt på att allt har ett värde och att ålder kan ge ett ökat värde. Det är även därför vi föredrar föremål från ca 1930-70-talet. Hållbarhet är en viktig del för framtiden av vår planet och genom att återanvända föremål hjälper vi även till att stödja framtiden för vår miljö.

About us
Our aim at Retro & Rugs is to give vintage, retro and antique items a new life in a new home.
As a company, What’s the Matta AB, started in 2016 as part of a franchise. We are starting 2023 with by setting out on our own as Retro & Rugs. Retro & Rugs was formed in 2022 and is owned by What’s the Matta AB.
We have decided to work with, promote and stock old things that we love and favour to give you a little piece of our eclectic taste. Our wish is to help our customers obtain and reuse already made quality items rather than turning new or massproduction.
You may have notice a theme in our names (What’s the Matta and Retro & Rugs). This is due to our founder (and company owner) Harvey Page’s expertise and decades long experience as the son of carpet dealers in London, as well as being a well-versed carpet dealer in his own right. (Make sure to check out our carpet section before you leave.)
After having worked with the recycling of second hand items in Sweden for the last 10 years and also being an antique and oriental carpet specialist for the last 35 years it was only natural for Harvey to continue to work with antique, vintage and retro items.
Our goal as a company is to continue to work with sustainability and to create a space were the value is in the item rather than its status as new or secondhand.
It is important to note that although we work with sustainability, we no longer have any connection to the recycling sites. From 2020 everything in our beautiful shop is bought and hand selected by us.
At Retro & Rugs we also believe that everyone and everything has an inherent value and that age sometimes adds to that value. That is why we also favour items from the 1930’s – 1970’s. Sustainability is a major contributor to the future of this planet we call home and by reusing we are also contributing towards that future of our environment.
